Interactive Aquarium

Upstate Medical University and the Golisano Children’s Hospital made a request to develop a touch screen interface to educate the general population about the large aquarium that was donated for the 12th floor of the hospital. The fish inside the tank can be rather shy, and having children knock on the tank to see them can be stressful to the fish inside. Therefore the interface was designed to show the user 10 different fish at a time, in a manner which is more approachable and can peak interest to learn more about that particular species. Users can interact with the aquarium by simply clicking on a fish to see more detail. A larger image of the fish appears with it’s name, facts and information about the particular fish.
